Hello people, players, staff, and the occasional passerby of Wizry! It's been a while since we've posted an update per say to let you all know what's been going on, so buckle up, I'm going to be throwing some things metaphorically at you all, but even with what I'm dropping it isn't even the half of what's going on fully.
To start, I'd like to give a shoutout to _Ecko/Kory for all his hard work as my Head Lore Dev, like his events and ideas or not, I'd like everyone to give him a thank you, because he really does work hard on everything he does so if you all could do that for me it'd be great.
Another shoutout to give is for Steampunk_Sam/Sam. He works really hard to balance university and normal life affairs to do all the work he does behind the scenes. Even I at times take what he does for granted, but really, this man does so much for us and there's no way Wizry would be running anywhere up to the standard we hid, ourselves to without him. So take some time to send him a message or mail saying Thank you, I'm sure he'll appreciate it.
Norse. So yes, I'd like to confirm what many have been seeing and inquiring on, we are going to be doing some things with Norse, but don't expect a ton to be thrown out or to be leaked until after 1.9, because we feel like it'd be a much better product if we take plenty of time with it. Currently the team, mainly Kory bless his heart, has written up a saucy 2,003 word document that isn't near done yet with just backstory, not even getting into the power setting or nitty gritty. I'd like to tease however that the claiming process and heritage will be something new and will surely add much more diversity from a skill set and lore set.
Teaser to the coined settlement, 'Bleakridge'.
Demititans, with the current loss of a few and loss of some overtime, we're going to be reopening some applications for more, so please if you're interested apply, reapply, or bump an application as long as it's not been denied!
Roman Leadership. I'm currently looking for some applicants to be and fill the open Centurion spots we have, and I do encourage more people to try out our Roman side, I look forwards to starting some player and Centurion based events such as the claiming process, maybe some Capture the Flag esque things, and more! If you're short for cash, I don't mind spotting you the money to pick a new parent ;).
Moving on, I'd like to address the Donation Store. Currently it has been off and on, and while I've been saying this to just people as they come, I might as well put it out that if you have donated, and haven't gotten your things to send me a mail on server to PrimalMudkip or OrthyianWrath, with PrimalMudkip being definitely preferable for a quick response. Id also require a receipt, so email that to email@example.com for a response. So along with this, I'd like to let everyone know that I'm always coming up new ideas for our donation store that will be put into place soon, namely and hopefully 1.9. A little teaser to chew on would be something coined the MagicCrate, which will be used similar to our normal crates, but we have about 30-40 spell tomes out in there as well as some fun magic based items.
Now onto 1.9, I promise you it's nearly on the way, we've come so far so bear with us as we take the final stretch. Our developments are nearly done, and at this point we're awaiting our item plugin and some map based building. Lots of good things, newer quests, a new event line and story setting. As for the current lore, yes there will be a Lore Wipe, and with this we'll be having the option of anyone can have a new character and a new name, or you can keep the same one, but unfortunately you'll have to forge a new backstory from the ground up. Note that with the lore wipe, we don't have set in stone rules for character settings, but likely it won't effect everyone too much in a sense that you'll be alright to keep the same name if you wish. I'd also like to throw out that lore wipes aren't new for us, we do them usually yearly.
Finally I'd like to throw out that currently we are looking to recruit new staff and builders. The rules haven't changed in that the age requirement is 15, yet if I can be persuaded enough, the app is solid, and I haven't had any major issues with you, I can go down as far as 14 because I myself was brought on as a staff member a long time ago being a year under the requirement. We also are looking to start broadening our spectrum and advertising outwards more, so we do encourage our server's veterans and even the newer ones to set a strong example in showing the new people a good time. Any questions I'll do my best to respond, but keep in mind I may not answer it the greatest and I am a person too, I go to school and have a job. I'm not very good with closing remarks, so yeah.
