Battle of Manhattan. (Pt 1)
In a recent struggle against the evil forces of Kronos. A massive show of force was dropped upon the Demigods as the self proclaimed Silver Legion moved in to strike at the heart of the Western Civilization. Mount Olympus as it were in the mortal world, the Empire State Building. The Demigods fought as hard as they could while maintaining forces at their respective camps, both Greek and Roman camps fighting side-by-side to try to hold off the onslaught as wave after wave of enemy monsters poured forth. It seemed their main forces consisted of Hyperborean and Laistragonian Giants.... the ranks filled in with late-coming Telekhines, and Scythian Dracanae. It even went as far as a Hydra was sent in, however this was quickly taken care of due to quick thinking and prioritization of orders.
The start was rough, casualties came early as orders were given out rashly for the situations at hand. Example being shield walls ordered to come up in front of the easily twenty foot tall Hyperboreans, and loose formations around the six to nine foot tall Laistragonian cannibals. Pila and Archer fire was ordered in close range, and the Balistae unit appeared to be sabatoged before the battle even started... Overall, hope seemed to be lost before the Camp Leaders began issuing late-game orders that helped turn the tide. The Hades Cabin along with a large force of undead from the Camp Half-Blood graveyard came in to assist, bolstering the numbers and with more orders and better situational management, their numbers weren't eradicated. Heavy casualties were sustained, a large chunk of Demigods lost in the battle from both sides, as well as the Camp Half-Blood graves were now empty, the corpses distentegrating shortly after.
In the end, the forces retreated, but a large force of energy only rationalized as being from two Titans in their Godly forms blasting at the Empire State Building, thus destroying the bridge between the mortal world and Olympus (for now).
After heavy losses, and the realization that the monsters would continue coming back and back until the Demigods were vanquished, a notion was brought up. To go after the Doors of Death. Once in control, they'd be able to station and control with the God gatekeeper Thanatos who comes back, and who stays down. In other words, the quest is to travel into the Underworld, walk the path of the dead, and try to fight their way to the Doors, then convince Thanatos to assist in helping. It shouldn't be hard, after all, I'm sure even Death doesn't want to die once and if the Titans take over completely.....
